The Books Have Been Ordered

I placed the print order for 400 copies of The Vondish Ambassador this morning. Got the proof copy yesterday, and found it good.

This book is about the same format as the six Wildside Press reprints in the Ethshar series; I’m afraid it doesn’t match The Spriggan Mirror.

Anyway, the books should be here in mid-January. Sorry it couldn’t be in time for Christmas.

  1. Well, that’s one way of looking at it.

Anyway, the books are here, and I’m gradually getting them packed up and ready to go; they should all be in the mail in a week or two.

  2. Re: The God in Red

How would a Transporting Tapestry be able to return Santa to the instant from which he was summoned a year after the summoning? Or is Tazar wrong about that?

  3. Because that’s the time shown in the tapestry — in the original longer version of the story I explained that there’s a calendar on the workshop wall showing December 9, 2007 (though I didn’t give the actual date, just described it as an Ethsharite would see it), so the tapestry will always take people to that date.

I trimmed the story down to fit the chapbook better, and that was one of the scenes I cut — I decided it wasn’t necessary. Maybe I was wrong.

  4. Do you have a estimate on when you’ll be starting you’re next Esthar serial? Which are the next ones on the list you are considering? Thank you by the way. I recieved mine a couple days ago. The cover art is very nice and the overall formatting is fantastic. What brought about the demise of all the elves in Esthar?

  5. Got the book and the chapbook, thanks!

Man, that trade paperback is like an inch taller than even The Spriggan Mirror, which barely fit on my 8.5″ shelves. Sigh. Oh well, guess I pick up the mass-market edition when/if it shows up.

  6. I don’t have any definite start date for the next serial; it depends when I finish up some more profitable projects. My best guess is that it’ll be late this year, but I’m not promising.

As for which it’ll be — well, it may not even be Ethshar; one possibility is Realms of Light, the sequel to Nightside City.

If it is an Ethshar story, it’ll probably be either The Sorcerer’s Widow, Azraya of Ethshar, or The Final Calling.

I’m afraid I don’t know yet how elves went extinct in Ethshar. I’ll figure it out eventually.
