Okay, even though I haven’t received the requisite funds, I’ve posted Chapter Seven, because I felt like it.
Still haven’t finished writing Chapter Nine, but I’ve finished two of the three other writing projects I was working on this week, so I’m hoping to get to it soon.
Not really much else to report. Hope you like the chapter.
I think you left out a word in the following:
The door of my old building let me, no questions asked – as I suspected, the landlord hadn’t bothered to wipe my access.
Shouldn’t there be a word after “let me” above?
Yup, good catch. Thanks.
Quaint Computerese warnings:
a) “algorithm” instead of just “plan”
b) “debug” doesn’t stretch far enough to include correcting disinformation (in this century at least)
c) “reboot” implies starting over on the same task; no shades of reverting or undoing
Oh, meanings have shifted; Hsing probably wouldn’t even realize “debug” and “reboot” were originally computer terms.
